Water harvesting

Water Harvesting 1

Rain water is harvested, treated and stored in tanks and reservoirs for re-use as potable water, in irrigation applications or as toilet flush. For new buildings, the design can include harvesting from paved areas.

Design of the water filtration and storage systems is customised to meet specific water quality requirements. Our technologies meet Green Star rating for office blocks.

For many applications the total water demand can be recovered from rain water harvesting. The total volume of water harvested is easily calculated as:

Total annual water harvested = Total roof and paved area x average rainfall per annum.

As an example, a house with a roof area of 250 square metres and an annual rainfall of 650mm will generate an average of 13 500 litres of water per month (450 litres per day), which will comfortably serve three people.
